DEVELOPMENT OF PERIODICAL SYSTEM FOR SEARCH ENGINE USING ONTOLOGY: A CASE STUDY OF LIBRARY OF LIBERAL ARTS, MAHIDOL UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The objective of this research was 1)To develop Ontology prototype for periodical system for search engine: a case study of Library of Liberal Arts, Mahidol University. 2)To develop periodical system for search engine using Ontology: a case study of Library of Liberal Arts, Mahidol University. 3)To evaluate the satisfaction of user’s in using periodical system for search engine using Ontology: a case study of Library of Liberal Arts, Mahidol University. The research consisted of 3 parts including: 1)Ontology prototype development which has domain concept under the guidance of experts. The developed system consists of 40 classes and sub-classes and 65 properties. The development tools of The Ontology using Hozo-Ontology Editor and OAM Framework for linked relationships between structures Ontology prototype in OWL language format with MySQL 2)Develop periodical system for search engine using Ontology following step of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using PHP language and MySQL database to developed periodical system in the web application. The system is divided into two parts consists of users and administrations modules. 3)To evaluate the satisfaction of user’s in using periodical system for search engine using Ontology. The research sample consisted of 31 people, using purposive sampling. The Overview of user’s satisfaction on using Ontology for search engine at the highest level (mean=4.81, standard deviation = 0.40).

งานวิจัยนี้เป็นงานวิจัยและพัฒนาจัดทำขึ้นโดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) พัฒนาต้นแบบออนโทโลยีเพื่อการค้นคืนฐานข้อมูลวารสาร กรณีศึกษาห้องสมุดคณะศิลปศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล 2) พัฒนาระบบฐานข้อมูลวารสารเพื่อการค้นคืน ด้วยฐานความรู้ออนโทโลยี กรณีศึกษาห้องสมุดคณะศิลปศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล และ 3) ประเมินความพึงพอใจของผู้ใช้ระบบฐานข้อมูลวารสารเพื่อการค้นคืน ด้วยฐานความรู้ออนโทโลยี กรณีศึกษาห้องสมุดคณะศิลปศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ซึ่งผู้วิจัยออกแบบการดำเนินการวิจัยออกเป็น 3 ส่วน 1) การพัฒนาต้นแบบออนโทโลยี ผู้วิจัยพัฒนาขอบเขตแนวคิดตามคำแนะนำของผู้เชี่ยวชาญ จากนั้นนำไปสร้างต้นแบบออนโทโลยี ซึ่งประกอบด้วยคลาสและสับคลาส จำนวน 40 คลาส และคุณสมบัติ จำนวน 65 คุณสมบัติ โดยใช้โปรแกรม Hozo-Ontology Editor และใช้โปรแกรม OAM Framework เพื่อเชื่อมโยงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างโครงสร้างต้นแบบออนโทโลยีที่อยู่ในรูปแบบภาษา OWL กับโครงสร้างฐานข้อมูล MySQL 2) การพัฒนาระบบฐานข้อมูลวารสารเพื่อการค้นคืน ผู้วิจัยได้พัฒนาระบบตามขั้นตอนของวงจรการพัฒนาระบบ (System Development Life Cycle: SDLC) ในรูปแบบของเว็บแอพพลิเคชั่น พัฒนาขึ้นด้วยการใช้ภาษา PHP และฐานข้อมูล MySQL โดยแบ่งการทำงานของระบบออกเป็น 2 ส่วน ได้แก่ ส่วนผู้ใช้งานระบบ และส่วนผู้ดูแลระบบ 3) การประเมินความพึงพอใจของผู้ใช้ระบบฐานข้อมูลวารสารเพื่อการค้นคืน จาก 31 คน โดยใช้วิธีการสุ่มกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเฉพาะเจาะจง ผลการประเมินความพึงพอใจของผู้ใช้ระบบฐานข้อมูลวารสารเพื่อการค้นคืน ด้วยฐานความรู้ออนโทโลยี กรณีศึกษาห้องสมุดคณะศิลปศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล พบว่า ความพึงพอใจของผู้ใช้งานระบบในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด ค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 4.81 และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตราฐานเท่ากับ 0.40
