Illusion Shell : Consumerism Behavior of Women

Abstract

Now a day, the world is full of things to satisfy people desire. It cause unnecessary desires and if the desire is not be fulfilled it will lead to unhappiness so people tried to do everything to get what they want and sometimes there are lost under social flow and they will have more and more gratification that will never be fulfilled.

For me I am one of those women and this is not only happen to me but also other women as well so it inspired me to create this work which is aimed to show women’s fond of appearance through the performance art.

Photos and videos of women who wear clothes that have weird shapes, that don’t exist in real life, appear in different places. It indicates an abnormality that different from ordinary people. They are lost in an world that is fake and keep telling themselves that it’s happiness and even though deep down they know that it’s not but they can not overcome their self.

โลกปัจจุบัน เต็มไปด้วยสิ่งตอบสนองความต้องการของมนุษย์อยู่อย่างมากมายมหาศาล กระตุ้นให้เกิดความต้องการที่นอกเหนือไปจากความจำเป็น และหากไม่ได้มาก็จะเกิดความทุกข์ จึงต้องพยายามเพื่อให้ได้สิ่งนั้นมาเป็นของตน โดยเฉพาะผู้หญิง เพศที่รักและชื่นชอบในการประดับตกแต่งความสวยความงาม แต่ในบางครั้ง กลับตกอยู่ภายใต้กระแสบริโภคนิยมตามสังคมจนกลายเป็นความอยากที่ลุ่มหลงหมกมุ่น อยากได้อยากมี สิ่งต่าง ๆ จนเกินความพอดีไม่รู้จักจบสิ้น

ส่วนตัวข้าพเจ้าเองก็เป็นผู้หญิงคนหนึ่งที่ตกอยู่ภายใต้กระแสบริโภคนิยมของ สังคม ซึ่งเรื่องราวเหล่านี้ไม่ได้เกิดขึ้นกับข้าพเจ้าเท่านั้น แต่ผู้หญิงจำนวนมากมายก็อยู่ในสภาวะเช่นเดียวกัน จึงนำไปสู่การสร้างสรรค์ผลงานเพื่อแสดงถึงความหลงใหล หมกมุ่นของผู้หญิงในสิ่งที่เป็นเปลือกนอก ความงดงามหรูหรา ผ่านผลงานการแสดงทางทัศนศิลป์ (Performance Art) ภาพถ่ายและวีดีโอ ถ่ายทอดภาพของผู้หญิงที่สวมเครื่องแต่งกายรูปทรง และสีสันไม่เหมือนจริง ปรากฏตัวอยู่ตามสถานที่หลากหลาย แสดงให้เห็นความผิด ประหลาดที่ต่างจากผู้คนปกติทั่วไป หลงอยู่ในโลกมโนที่เป็นเพียงสิ่งลวง หลอกตัวเองว่า สิ่งเหล่านี้คือความสุข แม้ส่วนลึกของจิตใจจะสำนึกได้ว่ามันคือความทุกข์ แต่ก็ไม่สามารถยับยั้งตนเองได้
