The Shadow Puppet Nang Talung: The History of Political Struggle Ao Si Mueang 34 Area, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand

Abstract

This thesis is a study of the history of political struggle Ao Si Mueang 34 Area, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. And research in history of the shadow puppet (Nang Talung) in the past and present with political content for the creation of my contemporary shadow puppet.

This research was a qualitative research that interviewed people in Ao Si Mueang Memorial Monuments and traditional Nang Talung artists, modern Nang Talung artists that showing political content. And artists who create works of art from the concept of Nang Talung and politics then collecting data to be studied and analyzed through the concept of sociological theory and film theories for the creation of my shadow puppet.

The results of research show Ao Si Mueang people were Communist Party of Thailand. And my family have been involved in this communist party. With these stories make me inspired the creation of contemporary shadow puppet named “The Southern Thai Revolutionaries” to present the ordinary people that no one mentioned for the outside society to know and recognize from this shadow puppet. And also searching for new forms of shadow puppet That will allow opportunities for further development, adjustments as needed in the future.

วิทยานิพนธ์ครั้งนี้เป็นการศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์การต่อสู้ทางการเมืองเขตงาน 34 อ่าวศรีเมือง จ.นครศรีธรรมราช และประวัติศิลปะหนังตะลุงในอดีตและปัจจุบันที่มีเนื้อหาทางการเมือง แล้วนำมาสร้างสรรค์เป็นผลงานศิลปะหนังตะลุงร่วมสมัยในรูปแบบของข้าพเจ้า

การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพที่ศึกษาด้วยวิธีการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกในกลุ่มคณะกรรมการอนุสรณ์สถานอ่าวศรีเมือง ต.นาหมอบุญ อ.จุฬาภรณ์ จ.นครศรีธรรมราช รวมถึงศิลปินหนังตะลุงแนวขนบประเพณี, ศิลปินหนังตะลุงรุ่นใหม่ยุคปัจจุบันที่แสดงเนื้อหาทางการเมือง และศิลปินที่สร้างสรรค์ผลงานศิลปะจากแนวคิดหนังตะลุงกับการเมือง แล้วทำการรวบรวมข้อมูลเพื่อนำมาศึกษาวิเคราะห์ผ่านแนวคิดทฤษฎีทางสังคมวิทยา รวมถึงวิธีการเขียนบทละครที่สำคัญเพื่อนำมาใช้ในขั้นตอนการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานหนังตะลุงของข้าพเจ้า

ผลจากการศึกษาพบว่าประวัติศาสตร์การต่อสู้เขตงาน 34 เป็นเรื่องราวของกลุ่มคนที่เคลื่อนไหวในนามของพรรคคอมมิวนิสต์แห่งประเทศไทย ซึ่งบุคคลในครอบครัวข้าพเจ้าได้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องกับเรื่องราวครั้งนี้ด้วย ข้าพเจ้าได้นำเรื่องราวเหล่านี้ถ่ายทอดผ่านศิลปะหนังตะลุงร่วมสมัยเรื่อง “นักรบแดนใต้ สหายดาวแดง” เพื่อบันทึกและนำเสนอชีวิตของผู้คนธรรมดาสามัญในสังคมที่ไม่มีใครกล่าวถึง และสะท้อนเหตุการณ์ทางการเมืองที่สำคัญให้สังคมภายนอกได้รับรู้จากหนังตะลุง และยังเป็นการค้นหารูปแบบการแสดงหนังตะลุงใหม่ๆ ที่จะช่วยเปิดโอกาสให้นำไปต่อยอดพัฒนาปรับเปลี่ยนได้ตามต้องการในอนาคต
