Jewelry : The Thread of Self – Sufficiency

Abstract

The objective of this research is to illustrate the philosophy of the self-sufficiency economy of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej through creating the aesthetic art form that embrace the true concept of Thailand sustainable development. Such philosophy can be translating into maintain or preserving the value and its importance at an appropriate level by not ripping it down making it lose its authenticity. One must consider and respect human limitation, natural resources, environmental, and geographical relationship in which having said all these, one must drive these existing resources in order to increase their potential to create maximum result without the complexity of the process. The integration between human and the environment will result in new things or new method that could benefit human way of life physically and mentally.

The above content has been used as a reference point and the meaning has been digested to find its principle of aesthetic in material form and design. From materials available from the Royal Projects of King Rama IX to unused plastic bags all play an important role in creating the new aesthetic inventions using one’s know-how and skills in order to create form, colour, texture of material and the way in which the piece is worn are reflecting the true value of aesthetic. The invention will spark new knowledge and approach in design and the way people live in the 21st century.

ดุษฎีนิพนธ์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสร้างสรรค์ผลงานเครื่องประดับที่แสดงออกถึง การน้อมนำหลักปรัชญาเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงในพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 9 มาปฏิบัติ ให้เกิดสุนทรียประโยชน์อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม เพื่อสานต่อแก่นแท้อันเป็นหัวใจหลักของการพัฒนา อย่างยั่งยืนของประเทศไทย คือ การคงเดิมหรือการรักษาคุณค่าและความสำคัญเดิมเอาไว้ อย่างพอเหมาะ พอดี มิใช่การกระทำที่รื้อทิ้งของเดิมจนหมดสิ้น แต่คำนึงถึงสภาพความเป็นจริง ของศักยภาพคนและทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ สิ่งแวดล้อม เคารพในภูมิสังคม ในขณะที่มีการขับเคลื่อนศักยภาพของทรัพยากรที่มีอยู่มาใช้ร่วมกันเพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพให้เกิดผลลัพธ์ที่มีคุณค่า มีความคุ้มค่า หรือสร้างประโยชน์สูงสุด ด้วยวิธีการที่ไม่ยุ่งยากหรือซับซ้อนจนเกินไป จนสามารถบูรณาการ องค์ความรู้ที่ได้จากการพัฒนาร่วมกับมนุษย์และสภาพแวดล้อมจนเกิดสิ่งใหม่หรือแนวทางใหม่ ที่มีคุณประโยชน์ต่อร่างกายและจิตใจของมนุษย์

เนื้อหาสาระในข้างต้นถูกนำมาสานต่อด้วยการแสดงออกผ่านหลักการทางสุนทรียศาสตร์ ด้วยการพัฒนากระบวนการออกแบบรูปลักษณ์ของวัสดุ จากวัสดุภายในโครงการอันเนื่องมาจาก พระราชดำริของพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 9 และวัสดุประเภทถุงพลาสติกเหลือใช้ ในชีวิตประจำวัน สู่การสร้างความงามในทิศทางของนวัตกรรมศิลป์ ด้วยทักษะเชิงช่างที่สามารถพึ่งพาตนเองได้หรือพอดีกับศักยภาพของตน สู่การสร้างรูปลักษณ์ สี และผิวสัมผัสของวัสดุ ตลอดจน วิธีการสวมใส่ที่สื่อสารให้เห็นถึงคุณค่าในแง่มุมของการสร้างสุนทรียะแห่งความยั่งยืน ผ่านการประดับ ตกแต่งร่างกายที่ควบคู่ไปกับจิตใจ เพื่อให้เกิดเป็นองค์ความรู้ที่เป็นแนวทางใหม่ของการออกแบบและการใช้ชีวิตของคนในศตวรรษที่ 21
