THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ENRICHMENT CURRICULUM TO ENHANCE READING LITERACY FOR THE STUDENT TEACHERS IN THE THAI PROGRAM

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to: 1) develop the enrichment curriculum to enhance reading literacy for the student teachers in the Thai program; 2) to evaluate the effectiveness of the enrichment curriculum to enhance reading literacy for the student teachers in the Thai program, for the specific objectives (1) comparison of the student teachers' abilities in reading literacy before and after using the curriculum, (2) study the opinions of the student teachers in the Thai Language program towards on the enrichment curriculum to enhance reading literacy; and 3) to confirm the enrichment curriculum to enhance reading literacy for the student teachers in the Thai program. This research was the Research & Development (R & D), the one-group pretest-posttest design, the one-short case study, and collecting and analyzing data using mixed methods. The sample group was 29 first-year undergraduate students in the Thai language program, Faculty of Education, Nakhon Si Thammarat Rajabhat University, first semester, the academic year 2022, selected by cluster random sampling. The research instruments were: 1) the enrichment curriculum to enhance reading literacy for the student teachers in the Thai program; 2) supporting documents for using the supplementary curriculum, including: the curriculum usage manuals, the hybrid instruction plans, and the hybrid lessons. (3) The tools used to assess the effectiveness of the curriculum were the reading literacy test, the reflective reading log, the reading engagement assessment form, and the opinion questionnaire of the student teachers. In quantitative analysis, the statistics used to analyze the data were mean, standard deviation, percentage, and t-test dependent combined with qualitative analysis by content analysis.

The research findings were as follows:

1. The results of the development of the enrichment curriculum to enhance reading literacy for the student teachers in the Thai program showed that the curriculum had 6 components: 1) Principles; 2) Learning outcomes; 3) Content structure; 4) Hybrid instruction 5) Technology, media, and learning resources; and 6) Evaluation. The evaluation results found that the quality of the curriculum was at the highest level.

2. The results of the research on the effectiveness of the enrichment curriculum to enhance the student teachers' reading literacy revealed that: 1) the student teachers in the Thai program had reading literacy proficiency after using the curriculum higher than before using the curriculum at the statistical significance level of .05; 2) the opinions of the student teachers on the curriculum were at the highest level.

3. Upon accreditation of the enrichment curriculum to enhance reading literacy for the student teachers in the Thai program. It was found that all 7 experts confirmed that the curriculum can be used to develop reading literacy for the student teachers in the Thai language program.

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อ 1) พัฒนาหลักสูตรเสริมเพื่อสร้างความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่านสำหรับนักศึกษาครู สาขาวิชาภาษาไทย 2) ศึกษาประสิทธิผลของหลักสูตรเสริมเพื่อสร้างความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่านสำหรับนักศึกษาครู สาขาวิชาภาษาไทย โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เฉพาะ คือ (1) เปรียบเทียบความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่านของนักศึกษาครู สาขาวิชาภาษาไทย ก่อนและหลังการใช้หลักสูตร (2) ศึกษาความคิดเห็นของนักศึกษาครู สาขาวิชาภาษาไทย ที่มีต่อหลักสูตรเสริมเพื่อสร้างความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่าน และ 3) รับรองหลักสูตรเสริมเพื่อสร้างความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่านสำหรับนักศึกษาครู สาขาวิชาภาษาไทย การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยและพัฒนา แบบแผนการวิจัยกลุ่มเดียววัดก่อนและหลังการทดลอง และแบบแผนการวิจัยก่อนทดลอง เก็บรวบรวมและวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้วิธีการแบบผสมผสาน กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี ชั้นปีที่ 1 สาขาวิชาภาษาไทย คณะครุศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏนครศรีธรรมราช จำนวน 29 คน ภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2565 ได้มาโดยวิธีการสุ่มแบบกลุ่ม เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ประกอบด้วย 1) หลักสูตรเสริมเพื่อสร้างความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่านสำหรับนักศึกษาครู สาขาวิชาภาษาไทย 2) เอกสารประกอบการใช้หลักสูตรเสริมเพื่อสร้างความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่านสำหรับนักศึกษาครู สาขาวิชาภาษาไทย ได้แก่ คู่มือการใช้หลักสูตร แผนการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนการสอน และบทเรียนแบบผสมสาน และ 3) เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการประเมินประสิทธิผลของหลักสูตร ได้แก่ แบบทดสอบความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่าน แบบบันทึกการอ่านแบบสะท้อนคิด แบบวัดความผูกพันกับการอ่าน และแบบสอบถามความคิดเห็นของนักศึกษา การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ย (M) ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตราฐาน (SD) ค่าร้อยละ (%) และค่าทดสอบค่าทีแบบไม่เป็นอิสระต่อกัน ร่วมกับการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพด้วยการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา

ผลการวิจัย พบว่า

1. ผลการพัฒนาหลักสูตรเสริมเพื่อสร้างความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่านสำหรับนักศึกษาครู สาขาวิชาภาษาไทย พบว่า หลักสูตรมีองค์ประกอบ 6 องค์ประกอบ ได้แก่ 1) หลักการ 2) ผลการเรียนรู้ 3) โครงสร้างเนื้อหา 4) กิจกรรมการเรียนการสอนแบบผสมผสาน 5) สื่อเทคโนโลยี และแหล่งเรียนรู้ และ 6) การประเมินผล ผลการประเมินหลักสูตรจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ พบว่า หลักสูตรมีคุณภาพอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด

2. ผลการศึกษาประสิทธิผลของหลักสูตรเสริมเพื่อสร้างความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่านสำหรับนักศึกษาครู สาขาวิชาภาษาไทย พบว่า 1) นักศึกษาครู สาขาวิชาภาษาไทยมีความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่านหลังการใช้หลักสูตรสูงกว่าก่อนการใช้หลักสูตรอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 2) นักศึกษาครู สาขาวิชาภาษาไทย มีความคิดเห็นต่อหลักสูตรเพื่อสร้างความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่านในภาพรวม อยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด

3. ผลการรับรองหลักสูตรเสริมเพื่อสร้างความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่านสำหรับนักศึกษาครู สาขาวิชาภาษาไทยโดยภาพรวม พบว่า ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิทั้ง 7 คน ให้การรับรองว่า หลักสูตรเสริมสามารถนำไปใช้พัฒนาความฉลาดรู้ด้านการอ่านสำหรับนักศึกษาครู สาขาวิชาภาษาไทยได้
