PORTRAIT OF ARTSPACE

Abstract

The thesis creation under the topic “Portrait of Artspace” presents images representing the art gallery in all three spaces to come out as a video work. This exhibition brings together well-known galleries in the Thai art circle, namely Matdot Artspace (fine art magazine) / Number 1 Gallery / Numthong Artspace. These three venues are all established and have been operating for a long time. There are many artists and works of art that have come through to exhibit in this area. The video contains interviews with key personnel working behind the scenes to drive the art scene within the space. Everyone in the area, when combined, will be represented as a representative of that area, displayed along with paintings of the interviewee. Each painting is created from a story of different preferences and what has been learned from that person. Finally, after the exhibition, the painting will be given to all interviewees as a sign of appreciation for being a part of the exhibition. An art gallery is a place that acts as a backdrop for art exhibitions that propel the artworks out to the audience. This area is behind the success of many artists. The series of works “Portrait of Artspace” will lead to getting to know the people in these three places through works of art that have a process to reflect the background of how the Thai art industry has always been driven.

การสร้างสรรค์ผลงานวิทยานิพนธ์ภายใต้หัวข้อ “ภาพแทนของพื้นที่ศิลปะ”เป็นการลงพื้นที่เพื่อเก็บข้อมูลของพื้นที่แสดงงานศิลปะมาแปรเปลี่ยนข้อมูลที่ได้รับเป็นผลงานสิลปะชุดหนึ่ง ซึ่งได้หยิบยกแกลลอรี่ที่เป็นที่รู้จักอย่างกว้างขวางในวงการศิลปะไทย ทั้ง Matdot Artspace (fine art magazine) / Number 1 Gallery / Numthong Artspace ทั้งสามสถานที่นี้ล้วนแล้วแต่ก่อตั้งและมีการดำเนินงานมาอย่างยาวนาน มีศิลปินในสังกัดและงานศิลปะผ่านเข้ามาจัดแสดงในพื้นมากมายหลากหลาย อยู่เบื้องหลังความสำเร็จของศิลปินมากมาย เป็นการนำเสนอภาพแทน ของพื้นที่จัดแสดงผลงานศิลปะ (Art Gallery) ทั้งสามสถานที่ ที่เลือกเป็นกรณีศึกษา ด้วยวิธีการเข้าไปสัมภาษณ์บุคคลที่ทำงานภายในพื้นที่เหล่านี้และนำเสนอออกมาเป็นผลงานสองรูปแบบคือวิดีโอบันทึกการสัมภาษณ์ของบุคลากรคนสำคัญที่ทำงานอยู่เบื้องหลังการขับเคลื่อนวงการศิลปะภายในพื้นที่ดังกล่าวทุกคน และ จิตรกรรมภาพเหมือนบุคคลนั้นตามข้อมูลที่ได้รับจากการสัมภาษณ์ โดยบุคลากรในพื้นที่ทุก ๆ ท่าน เมื่อประกอบรวมกันเป็นเหมือนภาพแทนของพื้นที่เหล่านั้น ผลงานวิดีโอจะจัดแสดงร่วมกับภาพจิตรกรรมเหมือนบุคคลของผู้ให้สัมภาษณ์ ซึ่งงานจิตรกรรมแต่ละชิ้น สร้างขึ้นจากเรื่องราวความชอบ ความต้องการที่แตกต่างกัน และสิ่งที่ได้เรียนรู้จากบุคคลนั้น ๆ ในท้ายที่สุดหลังจากจัดแสดงผลงานแล้ว จะนำผลงานไปมอบให้ผู้ให้สัมภาษณ์ทุกคนเป็นการแสดงความขอบคุณที่เข้าร่วมมาเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในนิทรรศการ Art gallery เป็นสถานที่ ที่เป็นฉากหลังในการจัดแสดงผลงานศิลปะ คอยขับเคลื่อนผลงานศิลปะให้ออกไปสู่ผู้ชม ในผลงานชุด“ภาพแทนของพื้นที่ศิลปะ” จะนำไปสู่การทำความรู้จักกลุ่มบุคคลในสถานที่ทั้งสามสถานที่นี้ ผ่านผลงานศิลปะที่มีกระบวนการเพื่อสะท้อนเบื้องหลังของวิธีการขับเคลื่อนวงการศิลปะไทยเสมอมา
