The Regional Reports (Baibok) of Nan : Form, Content and Reflection of Society and Culture.

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to study Baibok of Nan city which records by Dhamma Lanna scripts and the Tai-Lue scripts during the reign of King Rama V between 1888 to 1891, there were 85 papers. The results of the study showed that the form of Baibok of Nan city was divided into extrinsic elements and intrinsic elements. Most of extrinsic elements were recorded on western paper. Intrinsic elements were divided into 3 parts: the beginning, the content and the ending.

Alphabets can be classified into Dhamma Lanna 5 handwritings, and Tai-Lue 3 handwritings. Each handwriting is different in term of the bowed head and the end of the letter lines. As for the orthography of both groups was written according to general principles.

The contents of document can be classified into 2 groups: political and cultural traditional. The results of reflections showed 5 types, sovereignty of Bangkok, position seal and namely, relationship, Buddhism of Tai-lue and cremation.

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ศึกษาใบบอกเมืองน่านที่บันทึกด้วยอักษรธรรมล้านนา และอักษรธรรมลื้อ สมัยรัชกาลที่ 5 ระหว่าง พ.ศ. 2431-2434 จำนวน 85 ฉบับ มีประเด็นการศึกษาดังนี้ รูปแบบ อักษรและอักขรวิธี เนื้อหา รวมถึงภาพสะท้อนสังคมวัฒนธรรม

ผลการศึกษาพบว่ารูปแบบของใบบอกเมืองน่าน แบ่งเป็น รูปแบบภายนอก และรูปแบบภายใน โดยส่วนใหญ่รูปแบบภายนอกจะบันทึกลงบนกระดาษฝรั่ง สำหรับรูปแบบภายในเป็นการบันทึกข้อความ แบ่งออกเป็น 3 ส่วน คือ ส่วนต้น ส่วนเนื้อหา และส่วนท้าย ตัวอักษรสามารถจำแนกออกเป็น อักษรธรรมล้านนา 5 ลายมือ อักษรธรรมลื้อ 3 ลายมือ ความแตกต่างของแต่ละลายมือต่างกันที่ขมวดหัวและปลายเส้นอักษรเป็นหลัก ส่วนอักขรวิธีการเขียนของอักษรทั้ง 2 กลุ่มเขียนเหมือนอักขรวิธีทั่วไปทุกประการ เนื้อหาสามารถ แบ่งเป็น 2 กลุ่ม คือ เนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับการเมืองการปกครอง และเนื้อหาเกี่ยวกับประเพณี ส่วนภาพสะท้อนสังคมวัฒนธรรม พบว่าใบบอกเมืองน่านมีภาพสะท้อนทั้งหมด 5 ภาพสะท้อน คือ ความเป็นเอกราชของกรุงเทพฯ, ตราประทับและชื่อของเจ้าเมืองน่าน, ความเป็นเครือญาติ, การนับถือพระพุทธศาสนาของชาวลื้อ และความเชื่อเรื่องการเผาศพ
