การศึกษาพระพิมพ์แผงไม้ในล้านนา

Abstract

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อทำการศึกษาพระพิมพ์แผงไม้ในล้านนา โดยแบ่ง การศึกษาตามแอ่งที่ราบลุ่มแม่น้ำได้แก่ จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ จังหวัดลำพูน จังหวัดลำปาง จังหวัดเชียงราย จังหวัดพะเยา จังหวัดแพร่ และจังหวัดน่าน ทั้งนี้เพื่อต้องการทราบถึงรูปแบบและคติในการสร้างพระ พิมพ์แผงไม้ ตลอดจนความแพร่หลายของพระพิมพ์แผงไม้เพื่อหาความสัมพันธ์กับแหล่งโบราณคดีที่ พบในประเทศไทยและประเทศใกล้เคียง จากการศึกษาพบว่า พระพิมพ์แผงไม้ล้านนาได้รับอิทธิพลจากศิลปะพุกาม ในประเทศ เมียนมา ในช่วงพุทธศตวรรษที่ 16-19 โดยผ่านทางชุมชนโบราณหริภุญไชย นอกจากนี้ยังได้รับ อิทธิพลศิลปะแบบอยุธยา ในช่วงพุทธศตวรรษที่ 23 ซึ่งมีความสัมพันธ์ทางด้านรูปแบบแผงไม้และ พระพิมพ์ที่คล้ายคลึงกัน จากการวิเคราะห์ตีความพบว่า การสร้างพระพิมพ์แผงไม้ในลักษณะเช่นนี้ ถือเป็น สัญลักษณ์ที่แสดงถึงพุทธศาสนา ในคัมภีร์และพระสูตรต่างๆ ได้กล่าวถึงพระพิมพ์ที่เกี่ยวเนื่องและ สัมพันธ์กับคติเรื่องเจดีย์ จัดอยู่ในประเภทอุเทสิกเจดีย์ การสร้างพระพิมพ์แผงไม้และการประดับ ภายในอาคารศาสนสถาน สร้างขึ้นโดยคติความเชื่อทางพุทธศาสนา ในเรื่อง“อดีตพุทธ” ทั้งนิกายเถร วาทและมหายาน ที่เชื่อว่าพระพุทธเจ้ามีมากมายนับไม่ถ้วนทั้งในอดีตและที่จะตรัสรู้ในอนาคต สันนิษฐานได้ว่าน่าจะนิยมสร้างขึ้นในช่วงพุทธศตวรรษที่ 24-25 การสร้างพระพิมพ์แผงไม้ยัง เกี่ยวเนื่องกับการสืบทอดอายุพุทธศาสนาให้ครบ 5,000 ปีตามความเชื่อเรื่องปัญจอันตรธาน และเป็น การทำบุญสืบต่ออายุปรารถนาในอานิสงค์ของผู้สร้าง The objectives of this thesis are: 1) to study Lanna votive tablets in wooden frame found from provinces situated in river basins: Chiang mai, Lampoon, Lampang, Chiang rai, Prayao, Phrae and Nan, 2) to know models and beliefs in making such kind of votive tablet as well as the popularity 3) to relationship find the relationship between the archaeological sites in Thailand and the neighboring countries. The results found that Lanna votive tablets in wooden frame were influenced from Pagan Arts in Myanmar during the 16th-19th centuries through Haripunjaya ancient community. Furthermore, they were influenced from Ayuthaya arts in 23rd century which relate to wooden panel model and votive tablet. From the analysis found that a concept in making wood panel votive tablets is a symbol of Buddhism. It is said in Buddhist scripture and sutras that votive tablet concerning to the belief in Chetiya. It is a kind of Buddha Chetiya (Uthesik Chedi). In Lanna we found that votive tablets were decorated on wood panels and in religious places. To make wood panel votive tablets may come from the belief of “Former Buddha”. Both Theravada and Mahayana believed in countless Buddha in the past and in the future. . It was assumed that making votive tablets in wooden frame 24th-25th centuries. Making wood panel votive tablets related to this activity was popularity during Buddhism until 5000 years old following the belief of Panca Antaradhana. It is a kind of making merit of the donators.
