ผลของยาสมุนไพรที่มีส่วนผสมของแอลกอฮอล์ต่อการตรวจวัดแอลกอฮอล์ในลมหายใจ

Abstract

วัตถุประสงค์ของงานวิจัยนี้เพื่อศึกษาการวัดปริมาณแอลกอฮอล์ในลมหายใจจากการใช้ยาสมุนไพรที่มีส่วนผสมของแอลกอฮอล์ นำตัวอย่างยาสมุนไพรที่มีส่วนผสมของแอลกอฮอล์ 8 ชนิดที่มีวางจำหน่ายทั่วไปมาศึกษา ซึ่งตัวอย่างแต่ละชนิดจะมีส่วนผสมของแอลกอฮอล์ที่ช่วงความเข้มข้น ระหว่าง 4.75% % โดยปริมาตร ถึง 14.25% โดยปริมาตร ตามที่ระบุไว้ในฉลากบรรจุภัณฑ์ ทำการศึกษาในกลุ่มอาสาสมัครจำนวน 22 คน แบ่งเป็นเพศชาย 11 คนและเพศหญิง 11 คน โดยให้ดื่มยาสมุนไพรตามข้อบ่งใช้ที่ระบุไว้บนฉลากข้างขวดผลิตภัณฑ์จากนั้นทำการวัดระดับแอลกอฮอล์ด้วยเครื่องวัดระดับแอลกอฮอล์ในช่วงเวลาหลังจากรับเครื่องดื่มสมุนไพรที่เวลา 1, 2, 5, 10, 15 และ 20 นาทีตามลำดับ จากการศึกษาแสดงให้เห็นว่าเมื่อตรวจวัดปริมาณแอลกอฮอล์ในลมหายใจโดยการเป่าในช่วงเวลา 1 นาทีหลังจากได้รับยาสมุนไพร ค่า % BAC ที่ตรวจวัดได้ในอาสาสมัครได้สูงกว่าค่าที่กฎหมายกำหนดในอาสาสมัครทุกคน แต่ระดับแอลกอฮอล์จะลดลงอย่างรวดเร็วเมื่อเวลาผ่านไปเพียงไม่กี่นาทีและจะไม่สามารถตรวจพบหรือตรวจพบค่า %BAC เป็นศูนย์ที่เวลา 10 -20 นาทีขึ้นไปไม่ขึ้นอยู่กับอายุและเพศของผู้ทำการทดสอบ จากผลการทดลองนี้จากงานวิจัยนี้อาจใช้เป็นข้อมูลอ้างอิงสำหรับเจ้าพนักงาน เมื่อตรวจพบผลของแอลกอฮอล์ที่เป็นบวกในกรณีซึ่งมีการใช้ยาสมุนไพรที่มีส่วนผสมของแอลกอฮอล์เป็นองค์ประกอบ

The purpose of this study is to measure the amount of breath alcohol in the subject who takes a herbal medicine containing alcohol. Eight samples of commercial herbal medicines were chosen for the study. The alcohol contents of the samples were in the range of 4.75 vol% to 14.25 vol% as indicated on the labels of product containers. Twenty-two subjects were eleven male and eleven female volunteers. The alcohol levels were measured at 1, 2, 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes after the start of taking the medicine by using a handheld breath analyser. The medicine intakes were as suggested on the product labels. It was found that in the breath tests carried out at 1 minute after taking the medicine, % BAC were all above the legal limit. However, the alcohol level decreased rapidly within a few minutes after taking the medicine. Moreover, % BAC diminished to zero value at 10 to 20 minutes after the consumption of medicine. There was no effect of age and gender on the test results. The results from this study may be used as a reference by the law enforcement in cases where positive testing is observed with the claim of using herbal medicines.
